Are you interested in helping maintain Armory Park’s historic character? The election of new Armory Park Historic Zone Advisory Board (APHZAB) members will occur at the next APNA general membership on 13 November. Members are elected, then nominated to Mayor and Council for approval for a four year term.
We anticipate the following number of APHZAB vacancies at the end of 2018:

Come celebrate the end of summer, this Sunday the 23rd, from noon until 2:00 PM, at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall!

We will have representatives from the Police Department, the Ward 6 office, and Community Bridges present. We’ll also hear about the latest on neighborhood and downtown developments, our new listserv, and keeping Armory Park’s traffic circles clean and beautiful.
The meeting’s Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall at St. Andrew’s Church.
Here’s the agenda:

Do you want to help keep Armory Park’s traffic circles clean and beautiful? Then please join us! The APNA Board recently decided to adopt our traffic circles under the city’s adopt-a-street program. Giovanna Hesley has graciously taken the lead on the project. See her message below the break.

A message from Lead Police Officer Joseph Gradias, Tucson Police Department:
Greetings NextDoor and City of Tucson Residents. The Tucson Police Department is proud to announce that we have partnered with National Association of Town Watch/National Night Out to bring you, Dog Walker Watch!
What is Dog Walker Watch, you may ask? Well, Dog Walker Watch is a crime awareness program designed for neighbors who are familiar with their community and out in the neighborhood on a regular basis anyway, whether walking with or without a dog. Dog Walker Watch encourages these neighbors to assist local law enforcement as extra eyes and ears while out walking their dog in the ongoing community-policing efforts.
I will be hosting an informational training presentation at the Patrick K. Hardesty Multi-Service Center, located at 1100 S. Alvernon Way, in the front conference room from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 1st, 2018. I encourage any neighborhood association leader or active community member who wishes to get their neighborhood started to attend.
If you can’t make this meeting, don’t be discouraged, because we plan to have several more presentations in the near future. Thank you and hope to see you there!
