Work will begin daily as early as 7:00 AM so we can get through the project quickly to shorten the inevitable disruptions. Your patience will help complete this important neighborhood improvement. If you have questions or feedback, please email me or text me at 520-301-7113. It’s really a pleasure to see this long delayed project finally under construction.”

Home & Garden Tour POSTPONED

AP home tour 2020

3/12/20 UPDATE: Because of health concerns posed by the coronavirus, the Armory Park Neighborhood Home and Garden Tour will not take place March 22 as originally scheduled. We hope to reschedule at a later date.

Here’s the original post: An old favorite is making its return: the Armory Park Home & Garden Tour is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.
The rain-or-shine event will show off the homes and garden spaces of about 10 residents of Armory Park. Someone will be on hand at each location to offer its history and to answer questions. The tour of this historic Tucson neighborhood will start at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 545 S. Fifth Ave. (at 16th Street).
Tickets are $20.00 per person and one hundred percent of proceeds will go to benefit the Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, which delivers some 10,000 meals a year to Downtown residents in need. The feeding program, housed at St. Andrew’s Church, began 30 years ago, according to The Rev. Jefferson Bailey, its founder, and a deacon at St. Andrew’s.  In addition to the Homes  and gardens there will be an art show and at 4PM there will be special Mass at the Church with choir and organ and in the style of the 1940’s.

APNA Annual Meeting 11/12/19: Elections, Dusk, Holiday Party, and Sidewalks!

A reminder from APNA Interim President David Bachman-Williams about next week’s important annual meeting:

Hi Armory Parkers.

A week from today is our November Annual Meeting. It is in the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Hall and begins at 6:30 PM.

On the agenda will be elections for Officers and Directors for the Armory Park Board and also for the Armory Park Historic Zone Advisory Board. The DUSK Festival will have been held at the Armory Park over the weekend so we should review our reactions to that event given the email communication that has been taking place on this list serve. (Page Repp from the DUSK Festival and Greg Jackson from the City have requested to be on the December Agenda.  We will have the DUSK Festival on the agenda then as well as now.)

I will give an update on the state of our bylaws in light of a meeting I have with the City of Tucson Neighborhood Services staff. We need to schedule our End of Year Holiday party (time, date, and place). We will have an update on our sidewalk repair situation which is moving forward.

Besides regular reports that is what I know about. Please let me know if you would like anything else on the agenda.

Here is the agenda: APNA Annual Meeting Agenda 11-12-19

Dumpsters in the Neighborhood!

IMG_20191002_0001We will have three dumpsters in the neighborhood from Friday, October 11 to Monday, October 14. Here are some things to remember about our up coming neighborhood dumpsters:

  • Purpose: To provide residents a convenient way to dispose of pruning waste and large items from their properties and surrounding public spaces.
  • Dates: delivery on October 11, pickup on October 14.
  • Locations:
    • 345 E. 13th St.  to be placed on 3rd Avenue just north of 13th Street.
    • 646 S. 3rd Ave. to be placed on 17th St. just west of 3rd Ave.
    • 544 S. 6th Ave. to be placed on 16th St. just west of 6th Ave.
  • Tips:
    • One end of each dumpster is open but the sides are very high, so carry your items to the far end of the unit and pile them as high as practical.
    • Keep the area around the dumpsters tidy. The adjacent neighbor has agreed to have the dumpster there so show your thanks by helping to keep the area clean.
    • For your convenience, a PDF copy of the Collection Service Policies is attached. It contains information on what can and can’t be placed in the dumpsters and loading tips: Roll-off Policies

Dumpsters Are Coming!

Tucson-Dumpster-Rentals

APNA has arranged for dumpsters to be brought in. They are scheduled to arrive on Friday, October 11 and be picked up on Monday, October 14.

The scheduled locations are:
– South 3rd Avenue just north of 13th Street
– East 17th Street just west of 3rd Avenue
– East 16th Street just west of 6th Avenue

Please remember to keep the area around the dumpsters clean. It’s not your neighbor’s responsibility to clean up after you.

Please fill the dumpster from the opposite end of the door. Bring your trash into the dumpster, don’t leave it in the doorway! This way it can be completely and easily utilized by all.

Also, please do not use the dumpsters for construction waste.
