APNA Board: Looking for a Few Good People

A message from our APNA President:

Hello good neighbors and friends,

Our annual meeting for the Armory Park Neighborhood Association will be Tuesday, November 12th. Would you consider running for a position on the board? Being on the board is an opportunity to help lead the neighborhood. The association works to preserve the historic nature of our neighborhood, works with city leadership to take care of streets, sidewalks, lighting, issues that come up and plans social events.

Being on the board involves a commitment to one meeting a month for two years. The meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 PM. Officers are elected for one year.

A director is a regular voting member of the board. The board consists of 10 directors, four of whom are officers. The officers are as follows.

*Treasurer – This person is in charge of the finances. They prepare a monthly report, make a few deposits and write a few checks per year.

*Secretary – This person takes minutes of the meetings, sends them out to the rest of the board and posts them on the website.

*Vice President – This person is in charge of membership and fills in for the president as needed.

*President – This person sets the agendas for the meetings, corresponds with the neighborhood and local government and other entities, and runs the monthly meetings.

If you are interested and willing to be on the board please let me know. I would be happy to talk with you if you have questions (520-975-4852 or president@armoryparktucson.org)

David Bachman-Williams,

APNA president.
